Tolles Tech

Tolles Tech is providing several adult ed programs at its Plain City campus.

The school offers a basic welding program and an advanced program.

Students enrolled in the basic welding program learn basic arc welding techniques, MIG and TIG welding, burning and cutting techniques.

After completing the basic training students can enroll in the advanced program, a course designed to help them prepare for the AWS Structural Weld Certification.

Classes focus on hands-on training but students must supply their own leather boots, welding helmets, and other protective equipment.

The basic program costs $500 per class while the advanced program costs $800 per class.

South Western City School District Career Tech

The Welding and Manufacturing program offered by the South-Western City School District Career Tech is designed for students who want to prepare for a career in welding.

Students enrolled in this program have a Work-Based Learning opportunity during the second semester of their junior year.

After completing the two-year program students may receive advanced college credits through Columbus State Community College.

The program also provides mentorship opportunities and an independent work lab.

Included in the curriculum is also SkillsUSA, a student leadership organization.

Those who attain certain skills during the program may receive an American Welding Society Welding Certification or Qualification.
