Long Island Welding School

Long Island Welding School offers welding classes for different skills levels, from beginner to advanced.

There are three types of classes available, each is 24-hours long and costs $2,650:

  • Basic Welding Course- this covers Safety, Principles of SMAW, GMAW and TIC, Wire Selection, Gas Selection, and Welder Settings.

Nassau Bocces offers various career education programs designed to help students get better employment opportunities.

The school’s catalog includes a welding program offered in Long Island.

The program consists of  four classes:

  • Welding Fundamentals and Qualification- this program costs $2,095 and covers the basic skills needed for employment in welding construction.

School for Cooperative Technical Education

With more than 30 years of experience in the field, the School for Cooperative Technical Education offers half-day vocational programs in a variety of trade areas.

Their welding program teaches, among other things, how to read blueprints and how to use basic and advanced welding techniques.

The program is designed to prepare students for the NYS Dept. of Transportation Field Welders Certification Exams and for FDNY certificates.

Graduates are also prepared for apprenticeship programs or immediate employment.

Wilson Tech Center

Wilson Tech Center offers a variety of technical education programs for high school students and adults.

The school’s Welding program gives students the opportunity of discovering the composition of different types of metals and how to join different parts together.

Students learn how to transform a blueprint drawing into a real-life metal object.

After successfully completing the program graduates receive a two-year Wilson Tech Certificate of Completion.

Students are also required to pass the National Occupational Competency Testing Exam-Welding.

Modern Welding School

Another great place where you can prepare for a career in welding is the Modern Welding School.

The 900-hour combination welding programs offered by Modern Welding School can be completed in as few as 30 weeks.

The program costs $19,000 in total but financial aid is also available for those who qualify.

The school also offers a 665-hours course that covers Electric & Acetylene Welding, Structural Welding, Pipe, MIG, Structural Steel & Comprehensive TIG Welding.

This course costs $14,554 in total and is available only part-time in the evenings.

Students can graduate from the part-time program in 45 weeks.
