South Seattle College
The Welding Fabrication program offered by South Seattle College provides the following degrees and certifications:
- Welding Fabrication Technology AAS
- Welding Fabrication Technology AAS-T
- Welding Fabrication Technology CERT
The AAS program includes between 92-96 credits distributed into five quarters.
The AAS-T program (transfer degree) requires 101 credits.
The Certificate program is 64-66 credits long and can be completed in three quarters.
Tuition is approximately $1,600 per quarter for resident students and a little over $1,800 per quarter for non-residents students.

Lake Washington Institute of Technology
Lake Washington Institute of Technology is the only public institute of technology in the state of Washington.
Their catalog includes a Welding Technology program designed to help students begin a rewarding career in the welding industry.
Students can choose between morning, afternoon, and evening classes.
The classes include theory, safety, as well as hands-on training.
Tuition is approximately $15,000 for the Associate of Applied Science degree program in Welding Technology.
Certificate programs are also available with costs that vary between less than $5,000 and more than $10,000 depending on the program.

Divers Institute of Technology
If you want to learn how to weld underwater, the Divers Institute of Technology is offering a seven-month program that will teach you this trade and many skills that prepare you for a career as a commercial diver.
In addition to underwater welding, students also learn burning, hydraulics, deep dives, rigging, salvage, and more.
The school’s instructors work jobs within the industry periodically in order to make sure that the students receive up-to-date training.

Renton Technical College
Renton Technical College is offering a Welding program that prepares welders adapted for most phases of the industry.
The program combines classroom time with practical experience in the most common processes, including OFW, SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, SAW (arc), MIG, and TIG.
Federal aid is available for students who qualify.
Before admission, prospective students need a high school diploma or GED and they must pass a counselor and instructor interview.

Aerospace Joint Apprenticeship Committee
Aerospace Joint Apprenticeship Committee is offering a two-year program that trains precision metal fabricators.
Apprentices take classes in:
- Engineering Drawings
- Shop Math
- Inspection
- Intro to Precision Metal Fab
- PMF 1
- PMF 2
- Metallurgy & Welding
- CAD/CAM
The program includes approximately 4,000 hours of on-the-job training.
