Ironworkers Local 495
Ironworkers Local 495 is offering apprenticeships and journeyman training.
Classes for apprentices are held at the Local 495 Union training facility for two weeks of every quarter.
Students attend classes 8 hours per day Monday thru Friday.
Before becoming journeymen, Ironworker Apprentices receive certificates that include a variety of classes, such as:
- OSHA 10
- OSHA 30
- Hazardous Communications
- Rigging I, II, III
- First Aid- CPR
- Welding
- And more

Central New Mexico Community College
Central New Mexico Community College is offering a hands-on welding technology class that covers blueprint reading, metallurgy, and other general welding-related courses.
The course focuses on classroom instruction and lab time.
The following Degrees and Certificates are available:
- Welding Technology, Associate of Applied Science
- Welding, Certificate of Completion
The A.A.S. program requires a minimum of 61 credit hours while the Certificate programs include 38 credit hours.
Tuition for New Mexico residents enrolled in programs that have more than 18 credit hours is $684 plus $57 per credit hour above 18.

SMART Apprenticeship Training
The Sheet Metal Workers Joint Apprenticeship Program Training Center is offering training for sheet metal workers and service and control technicians.
The Sheet Metal program covers classes in:

- Blueprint reading
- Shop fabrication

Defined as a “place to make things”, Quelab offers a variety of classes and workshops.
Their current offering includes an Introduction to Welding class.
Before using their welder you have to complete the welding class or pass a skill test that proves your proficiency.
Memberships are $50 per month and include 24/7 access to their space and tools.
